ALTO 2.0 is the project of reliability and sustainability & physics program of ALTO within the framework of a national strategy

Reliability

The reliability of ALTO is envisaged according to 5 main axes: stable beams, radioactive beams, safety and nuclear safety files, target and ion sources R&D and finally electronics, acquisition and networks.

Sustainability

The sustainability of the ALTO facility consists of a clear redefinition of the future physics program. It also consists in ALTO's interaction with its national, European and international environment, as part of a national strategy, and the opening of ALTO to more industrial applications.

Two deliverables are planned as part of the ALTO 2.0 project:

1) From 5 to 7 February 2018, the organization of the Workshop on ALTO prospects will take place over three days: two days devoted to physics, and one day dedicated to the reliability.

2) In April, the release of an ALTO 2.0 white book summarizing all the reflections and conclusions from the working groups.
